The problem
The owners had to decide layout, façade finish, pool, garage and garden from flat PDF plans — hard to read, and impossible to feel. The existing 3D model didn't even match the drawings.
What I did
- 1Wrote a 74-script Blender/Python pipeline that audits and corrects the model against the plans — a roof floating 14–96 cm above the walls, a toilet 40 cm from its door, a worktop blocking two passages.
- 2Lit and furnished it with PBR textures, HDRI skies and 45 models for Cycles renders and 360° panoramas.
- 3Built a Three.js viewer: orbit, floor cutaways, jump to any room, first-person walk with collision and working stairs, an 8-view auto tour.
- 4Added a ‘stone or plain?’ tool that toggles the finish wall by wall and computes stone m² net of openings.
- 5Verified it with 15 Playwright checks and shipped three ways: web, an offline single file, and a shareable 360° tour.
Outcome
- Layout, pool and façade decided on a walkable house instead of flat drawings, with the stone quantity (and so the budget) for each finish calculated on the spot.
- Pool, vehicle entrance and finishes moved and re-checked in days, not redraw cycles.
